Inside My Closet

A video tour of how I organize, and why it works for me (plus links to amazing organizational pieces!)

For years on the blog (that’s still up and running, by the way!) I posted a ton about organizing and streamlining my space.

From my adventures into Marie Kondo-style minimalism, to working with professional organization services, to doing it on my own, I’ve tried it all!

Now that we’re settled into the new house and I’ve had the opportunity to work with one of my other favorite closet organizers (DM me on Instagram for her info if you’re local to Orlando!), I wanted to share how I’m organizing my new space.

My new closet is a bit smaller than my last, and has some challenging nooks, including hanging spaces that are a little harder to reach, so Chelsea and I worked to organize things in areas based on frequency of use. In other words, stuff that I use the most is front and center, while less-frequently used items are stashed in those weird, less-accessible corners

All that being said, hope you enjoy this tour, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you want more links than the ones I’ve provided here!

Shop the Picks

Here are some of the products I mention in the video:

  • Acrylic dividers—small and large: I use these for purses, both small handbags and larger bags. They help to hold bags upright, and keep them visible so you can see what you’re working with! If you have larger bags, these single ones work really well too.

  • Honeycomb sock holder: I cannot say enough about this! I love it so much it’s been with me for almost five years now! The best way to store them is to fold the socks in half (don’t bundle them), and then place the socks sides-up into the honeycomb. If you get just one thing from this list, this should be it! I love that this keeps me accountable on the number of socks I have too. If I’m running out of space on this, I know it’s time to get rid of some old pairs.

  • Fabric underwear/wireless bra holder: This is another must-have for me. Fold your underwear or wireless bra and stash them in, folded side up.

  • Pink felt hangers: I use these for pants and certain items only (I explain why in the video!), and these pale pink ones are really sturdy and pretty.

  • Fabric boxes for sweaters: These are great for sweater storage, and keep things so organized and neat looking. I can fit 3-4 sweaters per box.

Thanks for being here! See you tomorrow with some good reads from around the web, some fun finds, and more in The Download.
